Intelligent Industrial Field Unit with GPS and Redundant Communication

The DW 297 E type industrial field communication device provides data acquisition from intelligent metering units.

The unit collects and processes measurement data from a connected metering device by using it’s built-in serial communication (RS 232) port. Once the data is collected and stored, it is processed and transferred to the central system with iGPRS communication. Because the exact time synchronization between the central database and the meter (or the meter reading device) is an essential requirement, GPS time signal reception has been implemented.
